The Sudanese Army claimed that at least 32 civilians were killed in an attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State. It said the death toll included four women and ten children, with 17 others injured and hospitalized.
The Army stated that the RSF launched a swarm of suicide drones yesterday, accompanied by simultaneous artillery shelling on the city. Since May 2024, fierce fighting has erupted between the Sudanese Army and the RSF in El Fasher, as part of the broader conflict that has engulfed Sudan since April 2023.
According to media reports, the conflict between the two factions has claimed over 29,683 lives. The International Organization for Migration reports that it has also displaced more than 15 million people.
