30-year-old Woman allegedly abducted and gang-raped in Agartala

Agartala, Oct 10 (FD) A 30-year-old woman was allegedly abducted, drugged, and brutally gang-raped by five men before being abandoned in a forest area in a semi-conscious state.
According to reports, the accused forcibly took the woman in a vehicle, made her consume intoxicating substances, and then assaulted and raped her. Following the crime, the perpetrators allegedly cut her hair and left her in the jungle wearing wet clothes.
The survivor, after regaining partial consciousness, somehow managed to reach Agartala Railway Station, where locals noticed her distressed condition and immediately rushed her to IGM Hospital late last night.
Doctors at IGM Hospital provided preliminary treatment before referring her to GBP Hospital for advanced medical care. In a tearful statement recorded on a local TV channel, the survivor claimed that five men had drugged and gang-raped her before abandoning her in the forest.
The woman, still in a state of trauma, declined to disclose her address or the identities of the accused to the media. Police have so far not made any arrests but confirmed that a detailed investigation has been launched.
The gruesome incident has sparked widespread outrage among citizens and activists, who have demanded immediate action and the strictest possible punishment for those responsible. FD JK
