2nd Test: India struggles early but stays steady on day 1 against New Zealand

In Cricket, India was 16 for one in their first innings against New Zealand on day one of the second Test match in Pune. The hosts lost the wicket of Skipper Rohit Sharma early on but Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal negated the threat as they closed out the final few overs without losing any more wickets.
Gill was on 10 and Jaiswal on 6 when stumps were called on. Earlier, New Zealand were all out for 259 as all-rounder Washington Sundar picked his maiden 5-wicket haul to help India script a remarkable turnaround against the visitors. Ravichandran Ashwin took the other three wickets.
For New Zealand Devon Conway scored 76 runs while Rachin Ravindra made 65. In the morning, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat. In the three-match series, New Zealand won the first test at Bangalore.
