19 colleges in Tripura to get free Wi-Fi services

Agartala, Oct 21 (FD) Tripura’s 19 colleges out of the total 30 colleges out of the state were provided with free Wi-Fi services on Monday with an aim to enhance digital connectivity in education.
State Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy on Monday inaugurated the programme at Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya in Udaipur in Gomati district.
“We are attaching maximum importance in improvement of education in the state. In present situation it is not possible to get proper education without high speed internet connectivity. In the first phase we have created digital infrastructures for the 19 government degree colleges and it would be gradually expanded to all the 30 such degree colleges in the state”, Singha Roy said in the programme.
Now the colleges would enjoy free Wi-Fi connections and the students would get excess to this facility in those colleges.
The Finance Minister also stated that the government is committed to ensure cyber security for the people of the state.
Among others, local MLA Rampada Jamatia, Chairperson of Udaipur Municipal Council, Shital Chandra Majumdar, District Magistrate Tarit Kanti Chakma, Superintendent of Police Amit Pathak, and Director of IT, Jaya Aragul Desan were present. FD JK
